Take a healthy stock 289 (10 to 1 CR), add Total Seal rings (or Zero Gap). Bolt on a set of GT 40 aluminum heads. Use the Crane roller cam conversion and install an F303 Cam from the FRPP book. I would think the 289 is the same. I have seen blocks busted down the middle from pushing 450 to 500hp. If you are going to attempt this, I don't think you will do it with stock parts.
